Consultation on a draft Weston Villages Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)
Weston Villages is the principal new strategic development area within North Somerset as set out in the emerging Core Strategy. The Weston Villages proposals are to accommodate around 5,500 new dwellings as part of an employment-led strategy at Weston-super-Mare, where new homes are delivered alongside employment opportunities and other supporting infrastructure.
The draft Weston Villages Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) sets out how the two new communities at Winterstoke Village (on the former Weston Airfield) and Parklands Village (on the former RAF Locking) will take shape. It will also ensure that development is properly co-ordinated.
The consultation on the draft Weston Villages SPD runs from Thursday 1 September to Wednesday 12 October 2011.

As part of this consultation, public exhibitions are due to take place on the following dates:
• The Campus, Monday 12 September, 1-7pm.
• Hutton Village Hall, Tuesday 20 September, 3-8pm.
• Locking Village Hall, Wednesday 28 September, 4.30-8pm
North Somerset Council planning officers will be available to provide further information and answer questions at these events.

Comments on the draft Weston Villages SPD must be received by midnight Wednesday 12 October 2011. Either:
