Hutton Village Hall will be 40 years old on 2nd October this year.
To mark the occasion, the Village Hall Management Committee are holding a party at the Hall to celebrate it being at the centre of Hutton village life since 1976. The celebration will take place on Sunday afternoon, October 2nd from 2pm to 5pm. EVERYONE IS INVITED to the party which will have FREE food and entertainment. The Bar will also be open (drinks ARE NOT free - the only things that aren’t . . . Sorry!)
Many groups, regular hirers of the Hall, will have displays throughout the building. There will be plenty to see and do; try your hand at Short Mat Bowls, chat with members of Hutton Lace & Crafts and meet volunteers from Hutton in Bloom, see how the Hutton Pre-School group operate in the Small Hall, the local branch of Royal British Legion and members of the Friendship Circle will be in attendance, join in with some Keep-fit exercises, sing-along-a-Hutton (with some of the original cast that appeared in the very first Gang Show to light up the Main Hall stage), enjoy the Buffet, a free Tea or Coffee - come along and spend a few hours with your friends and enjoy the welcoming atmosphere that Hutton’s residents always offer when they get together.
There is still time for other regular hiring groups to book a space to display and present their group to the village; just get in touch with Tony (813530 or firstname.lastname@example.org) if you would like to book a spot. Please notify your requirements by no later than September 2nd.
A big THANK YOU to everyone who has supplied photos of the old Scout Hut and the New Hall from back in 1976. If anyone else has photo’s or other documents about the Hall from this time, please get in touch with Tony (details, above) and he’ll ensure they are incorporated into the afternoon of celebration (all photos/documents will be returned, if requested). If you would find it easier, please visit the Parish Council Office any weekday from 9am to 1pm to chat with Steve, the Chairman of Hutton Village Hall.
You’ll be able to find out further information about the programme in the September edition of Hutton News; so, watch this space.
And, make a note of the date and time -
Sunday 2nd October from 2pm to 5pm
We’d love to see you there to celebrate with the rest of the village.
